Introduction to Pastoral Leadership for New and Aspiring Leaders

This course offers a clear and practical introduction to pastoral leadership within schools, designed for those new to the role or aspiring pastoral leaders. Starting with an overview of the pastoral leader’s role and key responsibilities, including safeguarding, preventative and responsive approaches, pupil wellbeing, and effective collaboration with staff, pupils and families.

We will explore the importance of communication skills and the PSHE curriculum to support pupils’ wellbeing and sense of identity. The session also includes time to reflect on your current practice, and explore how to prepare confidently for future opportunities and interviews.
